When I thought about the image for the Breast Cancer Cure tee I instantly thought of the amazing print we featured back in 2016 for the NOM*d summer collection LONG LIVE. It was inspired by the Russian Matryoshka dolls and the image of the mother and child. Such a maternal feeling of love and peacefulness. We reworked it slightly, it seemed perfect for the project. Margarita Robertson, NOM*d
This NOM*d design was printed locally on an AS Colour organic white cotton unisex tee.
Dark and wittily sombre, NOM*d has created an iconic image on the New Zealand fashion landscape. The label's designs, which reference traditional tailoring and use reworked vintage garments, are anchored by a utilitarian approach and the concept that clothes must, above all else, be wearable.
In every collection, NOM*d maintains its credibility as a label unaffected by trends and whims, instead adopting the cool, considered gaze of the fashion outsider.
’To collaborate with Breast Cancer Cure and create a tee shirt raising awareness of the need to support the research the treatment of this condition in New Zealand that affects so many people, and to see the progress of what has been achieved so far gives NOM*d a feeling of love and pride.’ - Margarita Robertson
